Sharon Poppell, Principal Consultant
Fifteen years of experience working in public and private accounting has provided me access to firsthand knowledge of best practices in accounting and business operations. My specialty is working with agricultural, real estate and healthcare companies and the unique facets that impact those industries. I was raised on a dairy South of Twin Falls and was blessed with a strong work ethic and a key insight into the effort it takes to grow a successful business.
Although I have a wealth of experience brought to me through my years in accounting, my true passion lies in teaching and mentoring individuals to be able to take their accounting knowledge to the next level. Guiding and empowering CEOs and management to fully understand the numbers behind their business is what makes brings me joy and keeps me going.
In addition to all the above items, I am a wife, a mom of three beautiful daughters, and a dog named Bacon. I love where I live and enjoy investing time and resources into my community. Running, reading, skiing, and baking are my favorite things to do on the weekends.

One of the most important things I have learned through my years of working in public accounting, and later, as a Controller for multiple companies, is that every business is unique. Because of this, the first thing I do when I try to help a business is to listen. In addition, my father was a successful business owner and I was raised to think outside the box. Using these two skills, I have successfully helped businesses accomplish their complex issues.
I started my career with KPMG where I spent 7 years working on audit engagements in a variety of industries, including forest products, manufacturing, internet retail, technology, and healthcare. After leaving public accounting, I worked as a Controller for a few family-owned companies, as well as a large, publicly owned healthcare company.
In my personal life, I am a husband, a father of two kiddos and an old golden retriever named Sadie. I enjoy being outside, whether that be skiing, golfing, mountain biking, hiking, or just working on the never ending projects in the backyard.
