The Hot Air Competition Division (HACD) of the Balloon Federation of America (BFA) brings together members with a passion for competitive ballooning. This division includes pilots, crew, and event officials dedicated to promoting and advancing competition within the BFA. They organize and host the US National Hot Air Balloon Championship, sanctioned by the National Aeronautic Association, and also coordinate local, state, and regional competitions as qualifiers for the Nationals. Joining HACD offers opportunities to enhance flying skills, learn precise navigation, and participate in high-quality competitions nationwide.
