A family advocate plays a vital role in assisting families with children who have experienced or are at risk of abuse. At KAP, families are welcomed by a family advocate who guides them through the interview room and provides a comprehensive tour. Throughout the advocacy process, the advocate educates families on the interview procedure, discusses available counseling services, clarifies the judicial process, provides information on Crime Victims Compensation and Texas Crime Victims Rights, and offers additional resources as needed. The family advocate remains a supportive presence, assisting the family throughout the child's case, and ensuring they receive the necessary support and guidance.
