International Service

International Service at the Rotary Club of Foster City, stationed at P O Box 8111 Foster City CA 94404, extends its reach to the Yurok Native American Reservation through the impactful Yurok Nation Playground Project. This annual initiative, conducted in collaboration with 20 members of the San Mateo HS Interact Club, demonstrates our commitment to global goodwill and community empowerment. Each year, during the Easter and Passover break in early April, our team embarks on a journey to the Yurok Nation Reservation nestled along the Klamath River near the Oregon border. Here, we undertake the vital task of dismantling used playground equipment generously donated by neighborhoods in and around our city, only to meticulously reassemble it in areas chosen by the Yurok people. Through this endeavor, we not only provide tangible resources for recreational enhancement but also foster a sense of solidarity and mutual support, bridging communities and cultures for the betterment of all involved.
