Adelante by One Step A La Vez is a dynamic program rooted in advocacy and community organizing, situated in the heart of Fillmore, California. Our vision is to empower and elevate the voices of marginalized youth, including youth of color, those in the juvenile justice system, and LGBTQ+ youth, in effecting lasting change within the systems and policies that shape their lives. Through active engagement in issue campaigns such as the Democracy Project, Farmworker Justice Project, and Pride Project, our youth participants drive meaningful action by leveraging the tools of community organizing. From conducting Know Your Rights trainings to one-on-one meetings with decision-makers, public speaking engagements, and voter registration efforts, Adelante equips young leaders with the skills and platforms needed to enact tangible, positive social change. By fostering coalition building and networking opportunities across Ventura County, we are committed to building a more just and equitable future, one campaign at a time.
