Promise the Pod (PtP), spearheaded by Business for Water Stewardship in Portland, Oregon, is committed to planting trees from British Columbia to California, focusing on Chinook salmon streams and urban areas. With a crucial mission to restore habitat in eight priority projects, PtP advocates for the survival of the endangered Southern Resident orcas, numbering just 73. Partnering with Alaska Airlines, PtP's #FillBeforeYouFly initiative encourages travelers to bring pre-filled water bottles on flights, with one tree planted for each social media post. To date, Alaska Airlines customers have contributed to 5,000 trees planted, making a tangible impact on regional habitat restoration.
