Skookum Outfitters proudly stands as one of the few fly fishing guide services providing excursions on the Columbia in the picturesque Columbia River Gorge. Ideal for both novice and seasoned anglers, our trips offer productive smallmouth bass fishing, with experienced enthusiasts having the chance to spot and stalk carp and juvenile sturgeon in shallow waters. From late May to July, the thrill of swinging flies for hard-hitting shade adds an extra layer of excitement. While we primarily fish from the boat, some of the best opportunities arise when we approach our targets on foot. Comfortable wading gear is essential, and angling dates and locations depend on wind and cloud cover. Flies and tackle are provided, and rods are available upon request. However, guests are encouraged to bring their own outfits. The cost of the trip excludes lunch, fishing licenses, and personal wading equipment.
