Veteran Education

Veteran Education is a paramount focus of our agency, dedicated to providing every veteran and eligible individual with an equitable opportunity to achieve their fullest potential. We are committed to facilitating access to post-secondary education, training, licensure, certification, and entrepreneurial institutions, including New Mexico's esteemed colleges and universities, that are approved under the GI Bill®. Our Department's State Approving Agency (SAA) plays a pivotal role in this mission, working diligently to champion quality education and training opportunities for veterans. In doing so, we ensure the safeguarding of vital GI Bill® education benefits by collaborating with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs to prevent instances of fraud, waste, and abuse. The SAA meticulously reviews, evaluates and approves education and training programs while also offering technical assistance to interested parties upon request. Furthermore, we are actively engaged in outreach initiatives across New Mexico, disseminating information and promoting the GI Bill® education benefit to empower veterans on their educational journey.
