Bike Walk RVA

Bike Walk RVA, an integral program under the umbrella of Sports Backers, is dedicated to championing the cause of creating welcoming and interconnected environments for biking and walking, accessible to individuals of all ages and abilities. Extensive research demonstrates that the presence of protected bike lanes, well-maintained shared-use paths, safe intersections, and serene neighborhood streets significantly encourages regular biking and walking. In 2012, Sports Backers launched Bike Walk RVA, envisioning a future where such infrastructure thrives and the act of biking and walking becomes second nature throughout our region. Our mission is to transform this vision into reality by advocating for the expansion of such infrastructure and promoting the normalization of biking and walking within our communities.
