At Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP), our DTP Connects represents a compassionate endeavor in collaboration with various Tucson nonprofits to support individuals experiencing homelessness through our Homeless Outreach Program. Through a valuable partnership with La Frontera, we have established an on-site assistance program wherein dedicated community engagement specialists conduct interviews and assessments for those in need. Accompanied by a DTP Ambassador in a mobile unit, the outreach team performs crucial assessments, such as the Vulnerability Index – Service Prioritization and Decision Assessment Tool (VI SPDAT), to determine eligibility for supportive housing. We recognize the importance of consistent and caring outreach, and thus, the mobile unit maintains regular contact with individuals every Wednesday, extending a helping hand and fostering a sense of hope and connection for those facing homelessness in our downtown community.
