GLAR supports Proposition 13 and opposes any efforts to weaken the measure. Proposition 13 allows property owners to have a clear knowledge of their property tax responsibility without the changes that formerly occurred at the whims of local officials before the passage of Proposition 13.
GLAR opposes efforts to add to the property tax burden through efforts to increase Documentary Transfer Taxes, or assessing Parcel Taxes, based solely upon property ownership.
