Product Liability

When a consumer purchases a product, they should be able to trust that the product is safe to be used for what it is designed for. Unfortunately, that is not always the case, and thousands of consumers are injured every year by defective products. For instance, automobile seat belts and airbags fail to operate, car roofs crush rather than protect occupants, and household products, toys, equipment, medical prostheses, and pharmaceuticals can be designed or manufactured with defects that pose dangers. In the U.S. “the Product Liability Laws which are the legal rules concerning who is accountable for defective or dangerous products, is different from general injury law, and this set of rules sometimes makes it easier for an injured person to claim damages.”
