Plant Talk Texas

Neil Sperry began this program in 1978 and it continues today, being carried by several dozen stations across the state. It is a 5-minute daily weekday feature of interest to the gardeners of the Lone Star State. To date, more than 10,700 programs have aired.

Neil Sperry may be the most familiar voice in Texas horticulture. From his early radio broadcasts on behalf of the Texas AgriLife Extension of Texas A&M in the early 1970s to his first commercial radio broadcast on January 7, 1978, Neil has been on the air 7 days a week reaching hundreds of thousands of listeners weekly with his four different programs.
