That is one of the reasons the Greater Green Valley Community Foundation created Shine Forward Southern Arizona, a year-round initiative designed to connect people with the nonprofit organizations serving Green Valley, Sahuarita and communities throughout Southern Arizona.

When people hear the word philanthropy, they often think first about making a financial donation.

Charitable giving is incredibly important. Donations help nonprofit organizations fund programs, serve more people, purchase needed resources and continue the work our communities depend upon.

Sometimes generosity looks like spending an afternoon volunteering.

It might mean buying a ticket to a local nonprofit fundraiser.

Bringing People Together Through Sip, Swirl, Shop & Shine Forward

That same idea is at the heart of the Greater Green Valley Community Foundation's 4th Annual Sip, Swirl, Shop & Shine Forward with Holiday Market, happening Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Historic Canoa Ranch in Green Valley.

The event brings together Arizona wineries, Tucson craft breweries, local businesses, holiday vendors, food trucks, music, nonprofit organizations and community members for an afternoon at one of Southern Arizona's most beautiful historic locations.

Guests can discover a new Arizona wine, enjoy a local craft beer, shop for holiday gifts and spend time with friends.

At the same time, they can discover organizations working throughout Southern Arizona and learn more about the causes they serve.

That combination of community, connection and giving is intentional.

This year, the event also celebrates Shine Forward Southern Arizona and the larger movement to make local philanthropy easier to discover and participate in.

What Is Shine Forward Southern Arizona?

Shine Forward Southern Arizona is a year-round initiative of the Greater Green Valley Community Foundation connecting people throughout the region with nonprofit organizations, volunteer opportunities, community events and meaningful ways to give back.

It isn't simply a November fundraiser.

And it doesn't end when Sip, Swirl, Shop & Shine Forward is over.

Throughout the year, Shine Forward will help tell the stories of organizations serving communities including Green Valley, Sahuarita, Amado, Arivaca, Tubac, Tumacácori, Rio Rico, Nogales and surrounding Southern Arizona communities.

The goal is simple:

Help more people discover the good already happening around them and make it easier to become part of it.

Businesses Have a Role in Strengthening Southern Arizona, Too
