Mill Creek Campground sits 14 miles southwest of Lake City, Colorado, at 9,500 feet and is nestled along the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River. It offers a fishing access trail and river access for anglers, with world-class hiking nearby in the Redcloud Peak and Handies Peak Wilderness Study Areas, including trails to three 14,000-foot peaks. The campground also provides access for licensed OHVs and high-clearance 4-wheel-drive vehicles to the scenic Alpine Loop Backcountry Byway, a 65-mile route through the stunning San Juan Mountains. The campground is open from June through September.
