After braces are removed, the retention phase begins to help maintain your new smile. The upper retainer is removable and should be worn full-time for the first two months, then at night only after that, while the lower retainer is a small wire bonded behind your lower front teeth. Retention is a lifelong commitment, and wearing your retainers as instructed is essential to prevent relapse and protect the results of all the effort you’ve put into achieving your beautiful smile.
