Disaster Relief

The American Red Cross provides a level of support unmatched by government agencies or other charities. From single-family home fires to large-scale natural disasters spanning multiple states, we respond wherever help is needed, ensuring people have access to clean water, safe shelter, and hot meals during their most difficult moments. Each year, we respond to approximately 65,000 disasters, with 95% of our disaster relief workforce made up of dedicated volunteers. The majority of these emergencies are home fires, where our presence brings immediate comfort and care to those affected.
