Birth and Death Certificates/Vital Records

The St. Charles County Division of Health Services handles records for births, deaths, and fetal deaths that occur in Missouri. Certified copies of death certificates are available right away for funeral homes, while all records are verified and sent to the Missouri Department of Health’s Bureau of Vital Records for official filing. Once processed, the local health department can issue copies as needed. For certain requests, like genealogy or insurance, certified originals must be obtained directly from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services in Jefferson City.
