The PowerShift Program is designed to help members save on electricity costs while supporting stable rates for the community. By shifting energy use from peak demand times to periods of lower demand, the program manages residential water heaters, central air conditioners, and seasonal agricultural loads efficiently. Reducing peak demand helps control electricity costs because power must be generated in real-time, and prices are higher when usage spikes during extreme weather conditions.
