Our HowRU program provides free daily automated check-in calls to Seniors living alone. If a call goes unanswered, a volunteer follows up to ensure safety and well-being.
For many, this is the only contact they have with the outside world. Some have no emergency contact, family, or next of kin. They live in isolation, and the HowRU call becomes more than a safety check- it is a lifeline, a moment of connection, and a daily reminder that someone cares.
To date, the program has led to timely medical interventions that saved 14 lives. For those individuals, the call meant the difference between life and death.
