The Prelude to Worship begins about 5 to 10 minutes before the service with music played in the sanctuary to help everyone enter a prayerful and worshipful mindset. Unlike the background music we hear in daily life, these melodies are meant to quiet our hearts and prepare us to meet God in worship. While the narthex is the place to greet and connect with others, the sanctuary invites a spirit of reverence, where voices are kept low so all may pray, reflect, and listen for God’s Spirit through the beauty of the music.
