In 2006, Woodmoor established a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) to guide a 10-year strategy focused on improving forest health, reducing wildfire risks, and enhancing community safety. With nearly 60% of single-family lots classified as “Severe” or “High” wildfire hazards, the community implemented proactive measures such as regular chipping days to assist residents in safely disposing of hazardous vegetation. Woodmoor’s Firewise designation has further strengthened community engagement and access to resources, fostering a more fire-resilient environment.
