Supports individuals, many of whom are aging or not focused on employment, by emphasizing skill retention, personal safety, community integration, and meaningful social engagement. Participants take part in vocational activities, life skills training, and a variety of enriching classes and leisure opportunities. Instruction includes essential community-based skills such as using public transportation, making purchases, and ordering food, while some individuals also attend classes at Saddleback College or volunteer locally. The program encourages self-expression and independence through self-advocacy groups like Sign Language, Cooking Club, and FunBrain, where participants help shape activities and learn to communicate, problem-solve, and build lasting friendships. With a staff-to-participant ratio ranging from 1:1 to 1:4, the Emeritus Program offers flexible, person-centered support in a vibrant and inclusive environment.
