Environmental justice is a movement that advocates for the equitable distribution of environmental benefits and burdens, with a focus on addressing disparities experienced by communities of color. Influenced by the American Civil Rights Movement, it encompasses critical issues such as pollution, land use, transportation, access to parks and open spaces, clean air and water, food access, and climate justice. Since 2015, Day One has been actively engaged in advancing environmental justice through targeted programs that promote health, equity, and sustainability in underserved communities.
