As of January 1, 2023, the administration of the Craft Beverage Modernization Act shifted from U.S. Customs and Border Protection to the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. Importers are now required to pay full taxes at entry, offset by applicable credits, and subsequently file refund claims with the TTB, reflecting updated compliance and tax benefit procedures under the CBMA.
