The Books for Kids program, a collaboration between Covered Treasures Bookstore and Tri-Lakes Cares, was established in 2017 to promote early childhood literacy among low-income families. Recognizing the critical importance of reading proficiency by third grade, the program provides enrolled children with one age-appropriate, interest-based book each month for a year. By increasing access to quality reading materials during a vital stage of development, the initiative aims to support school readiness and long-term academic success. Donations to support the program are accepted through Tri-Lakes Cares.
