Our veterinarians are experienced with the intricacies of canine breeding. We can assist with all aspects of your planned breeding and are happy to schedule a breeding consultation if needed. Planning the breeding may include performing in-house vaginal cytology or sending out progesterone tests (with 24-hour results) to monitor the female’s heat cycle. We can perform vaginal or surgical artificial insemination at the appropriate time. Pregnancy can be verified with an ultrasound exam as early as 25 days, or a pregnancy count determined after 45 days with digital radiology. We also offer assistance with whelping or cesarean sections when necessary. A veterinarian is available 24/7 through our emergency service if issues arise outside of our regular office hours.
