Extreme Fishes

The Extreme Fishes gallery at the Oklahoma Aquarium showcases the unique and fascinating adaptations of various fish species. These adaptations allow fish to thrive in challenging environments, such as the African mudskipper, which can breathe through its skin and “skip” across land, and the African lungfish, capable of surviving up to two years out of water during droughts by secreting a protective cocoon.
