S.T.A.R.T. Program (In-Custody Treatment)

The S.T.A.R.T. program, a collaboration between L.A. CADA and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, provides comprehensive, evidence-based substance use disorder treatment to inmates within the Los Angeles County jail system. Offering individual counseling, group therapy, and case management, the program prepares participants for successful reintegration by connecting them to post-release services, including SUD treatment and housing support. With a focus on reducing recidivism and promoting recovery, S.T.A.R.T. helps individuals break the cycle of addiction and incarceration through effective, culturally appropriate interventions.
