The Grade Separation Program focuses on improving safety and reducing traffic congestion by eliminating street-level crossings along the Caltrain corridor in San Mateo County. Funded through Measures A and W, the program is expected to generate approximately $298 million through 2048. Due to the high costs of these projects, the Transportation Authority has prioritized a pipeline of key grade separation efforts in San Mateo, Burlingame, Menlo Park, South San Francisco, and San Bruno, while also allocating funds for planning additional future projects, such as those proposed by Redwood City.
