Zoning

The Zoning Department oversees code enforcement, ordinance zoning, and the issuance of building permits to ensure compliance with city regulations. Certificates of Occupancy and Construction Permits are required for any alterations to existing buildings or new construction, including structural improvements such as sheds, fences, roofing, siding, detached garages, driveways, and windows. Additionally, for safety purposes, residential properties must have handrails installed for stairways with three or more risers.
