Private Organizations at Nellis AFB are independent, special interest groups formed by individuals acting outside their official federal capacities. These organizations are permitted to operate on Air Force installations with the explicit approval of the installation Commander, as per AFI 34-223 Section A.1. It is important to note that these entities are not federal bodies and do not possess the immunities and privileges associated with Non-Appropriated Fund Instrumentalities (NAFIs) or the Air Force itself, according to AFI 34-223 Section A.1.1.1.
