Each spring, the U.S. House of Representatives sponsors a national high school arts competition known as the Artistic Discovery Contest. This event serves to highlight and nurture the creative abilities of students within the nation and specifically within the 28th Congressional District. The winner's artwork from this district will be showcased in the U.S. Capitol for one year, alongside other district winners from across the country. Additionally, the winning piece will be featured on the Congressional Art Competition page on House.gov. High school students residing in CA-28 are eligible to participate, with submissions requiring originality in concept, design, and execution. The deadline for the 2024 competition is March 8, 2024.
